鉴黄师app鈥檚 annual Dance Marathon fundraiser will begin on Saturday, April 2 at 1 p.m., and end on Sunday, April 3 at 2:15 a.m. in 鉴黄师app鈥檚 Recreation and Fitness Center, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton campus. The event, known as OwlThon, raises money and awareness for the Children鈥檚 Miracle Network (CMN). Proceeds from the event will go directly to University of Florida鈥檚 Shands Children鈥檚 Hospital in Gainesville.
鈥淥wlThon is more than just an organization. It brings the student body and community together as one to help these children,鈥 said Jordan Klein, student director of OwlThon. 鈥淭hese families deserve more days, months and years with their ill children, and we鈥檙e here to lend a hand and give them hope for another tomorrow.鈥
The theme of this year鈥檚 OwlThon is 鈥淒ouble the Miracles.鈥 Participants will dance on their feet for 13.1 hours, which is meant to give them a greater understanding of the struggles that children go through as they are treated for their illnesses at CMN hospitals.
Only registered 鉴黄师app 鉴黄师app, faculty, staff and alumni can participate in the event, but anyone can donate to the cause.
鉴黄师app is one of more than 350 schools across the country raising money for the Children鈥檚 Miracle Network. Last year alone, dance marathons raised more than $26 million for CMN hospitals.
