President Kelly Delivers State of the University Address

ʦapp President John Kelly delivered his second State of the University address today underlining the theme “Be Bold, Be Daring, Be ʦapp.”

The captivating multimedia presentation focused on ʦapp’s strategic plan, and highlighted student and faculty achievements, as well as ʦapp’s 10 Colleges and six campuses. The event also celebrated successes of various ʦapp alumni.

“Our strategic plan outlines both strengths and aspirations and meets the challenges that the University faces,” said President Kelly. “We outlined our strategic plan in a way that would allow ʦapp to be the fastest growing university in the country.”

ʦapp alumnus Jeremy Murphy spoke to President Kelly live via satellite from New York City, where he serves as CBS’ vice president for communications. Also in attendance was actor Marc Kudisch, a 1988 graduate of ʦapp who currently stars as Senate Majority Leader Henry Mitchell in season four of Netflix’s House of Cards.

The program included a performance by , finalists from season 14 of NBC’s America’s Got Talent. Emil and Dariel Liakhovetski are brothers and local residents, with Emil, 18, a junior majoring in pre-med at ʦapp. A Unity Step Show also was performed by sororities and fraternities within ʦapp’s National Panhellenic Council.

President Kelly said he plans to continue to foster in a new and improved ʦapp, building on the old traditions upon which the University was founded.

“My plan for ʦapp is to proceed and lead with ‘unbridled ambition,’” he said.
